Hyderabad High Court had issued stay on the Land acquisition for Bhogapuram Green field International Airport. People of 12 villages have approached the court on this issue and managed to get stay.

Vizianagaram district collector issued orders of Land Acquisition and those orders will now stand cancelled with the court’s stay. The state government is going about acquisition of 5000 acres for the project.
Bhogapuram Aerotropolis project comprises of an international airport, maintenance repair and overhaul facility and an aviation academy. The new airport is planned to ease the burden on Vishakapatnam airport which registered a whopping increase in passenger traffic after the state bifurcatin
