Rope used to hang Saddam is up for auction!

rope executed for saddam hussainThe rope which was used to execute the death sentence of Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussain is all set to go for an auction. And the bidding will start as high as $7 Million. The rope is in the possession of Dr Mowaffak al-Rubaie, who led the former president to his death in 2006. He reportedly wrapped it around the neck of a statue of Saddam in his living room in northern Baghdad.

Two Kuwaiti businessmen, a wealthy Israeli family, a bank and an Iranian religious organization are eager to bag the coveted antique piece. While there is a tight competition, Dr al-Rubaie is yet to confirm the sale.

There were demands that the money that was acquired from the sale of the rope should go to the treasury and should be used for people. Saddam Hussain was captured by a US-UK military coalition in 2003 and was later executed by hanging till death.
