Small Farmers having half or one acre of lands in the upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh are worried so much. Most of the farmers earn so where around 50000 per year trying various crops in their little land parcels.
Land Pooling or Land Acquisition will not do any good to them since their lifeline for income is cut. Also worried are the agriculture workers who work in the fields. With the capital arriving, government will take over the lands or the other agricultural lands being converted to real estate layouts.
The government has selected 17 villages in Guntur – Velagapudi, Uddandarayunipalem, Rayapudi, Dondapadu, Neerukonda, Borupalem, Nelapadu, Sakhamuru, Nidamarru, Malkapuram, Mudha Lingayapalem, Lingayapalem and Abbarajupalem villages for the first phase of land pooling exercise which will begin from November. On the other side, Government is thinking on the lines to give one government job for the family of small farmers and use the agriculture labour for various constructions of the capital to provide them alternate employment. It is known that government will be paying 25000 per acre for 10 years to land losing farmers with 5% increment after 5 years.
