BJP Leader and MLC Somu Veerraju was Chandrababu’s biggest tormentor until few months ago. Despite being a part of the alliance government, Veerraju never let go an opportunity to criticize and corner the state government. As there is a big need of the center for the state, TDP used to find it difficult to go hard at him as it may annoy BJP bosses.

After a disastrous Bihar election result, Somu Veerraju silenced for some reason. There were rumours that Chandrababu managed to put a check to him via BJP high command. It was then said Chandrababu also ruined Somu’s chances of becoming AP BJP President.
But Somu Veerraju is back and is looking for revenge on the state government. He lent his voice to the Kapu agitation being led by former Minister Mudhragadda Padmanabham. He promised to get Parliament ratification if the state assembly passes a bill on reservation to Kapu community. Somu Veerraju being himself from Kapu community, threw the ball in to Chandrababu’s court.
