A Bank in Odisha was robbed of about 1.15 Crore rupees which are 500 and 1000 rupees notes. The robbery happened on the weekend. Monday when bank folks entered the bank they found the door to be broken and cash box opened.

Police suspected that this could be the act of insiders and said CCTV footage would we examined. Also, to the surprise of all, Robbers left the cash of 7 Crore in the same room.
The bank was not supposed to hold such an amount at the branch due to security reasons and in the case of retaining the cash, police should be informed for security, which was not done. The bank had to send this cash to its main office on Saturday where the cash is counted to would be sent to RBI.
This incident raised these questions in public: Why would Robbers take the banned notes from the bank? Is there a way to exchange such a huge amount in time? Or is it the act of bank insiders?
