Telugu Desam Party Candidates cruised to a sensational victory in the Graduates MLC Elections.
In the Krishna-Guntur MLC Seat, Alapati Raja registered a win with a Record Majority of 82,320 Votes. The Majority of another TDP Candidate Perabattula Rajasekharam is 77,461 in the Godavari district’s MLC seat.

Previously, Government Employees used to vote more in the Graduates MLC Elections and TDP would often even fear to contest these elections as that section is often perceived to be anti-TDP
And from there, it has come to this level that both the candidates registered Record Majorities.

The turnaround for the TDP in these elections started in 2023.
In March 2023, TDP registered a stunning victory in the Graduates MLC Elections for three seats – Uttarandhra, East Rayalaseema, and West Rayalaseema.

West Rayalaseema, in particular, was stunning because it comprises the voters of Jagan’s native district – Kadapa as well.
But YSR Congress refused to read the writing on the wall and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, back then, gave the infamous statement “మా ఓటర్లు వేరే ఉన్నారు”.
What happened in the 2024 Assembly elections is history.
And now, after the elections, TDP candidates won the MLC seats of Godavari districts and Krishna – Guntur in Graduates Category with thumping majority.
As far as these two seats are concerned, the vote share increased by 10% when compared to the 2024 Assembly elections.
That also means all the five MLC seats (Uttarandhra, Godavari district, Krishna – Guntur, East Rayalaseema, and West Rayalaseema) in Graduates Category covering the entire state are with the TDP now.
This is a sign that the educated voters in the state are clearly with TDP and this will be a big problem for YSR Congress in the coming days.
The educated voters will only increase in the coming days and so is their awareness. YSR Congress should come out of its outdated mindset of relying only on freebies. Or else, the coming days will be tougher.
Like in 2023, the YSR Congress is in a denial mode even now saying that they did not contest this elections.
They should remember they pulled out of this election fearing defeat.
