We Have No Colour Book, Except Khaki Book: TG DGP

Telangana DGP clarifies pink book rumours

Telangana’s new DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy dismissed rumours of a “pink book” or “red book,” saying the police only follow the khaki book. His remarks came amid political chatter linking colour-coded books with punishment for law violators.

The “pink book” talk started when BRS leader K. Kavitha once said her party would act against those harassing its cadre if it returned to power. However, the idea faded after Kavitha’s exit from BRS. Recently, In the past, in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh had mentioned red book during Yuva Galam.

Addressing the media, Shivadhar Reddy clarified that Telangana police recognise no such colour book. He stressed they act when people misuse social media for character assassination, fake news, or degrading women and families.

When asked about a possible new law, the DGP brushed off the rumours. He said the police are now focused on ensuring smooth conduct of upcoming local body elections and will dedicate the next two months to poll duties.
