Singapore-like Night Safaris in Telangana

Telangana night safari

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has proposed developing night safaris similar to those in Singapore, which operate on 30 acres of land. He said Telangana should make full use of its forests, waterfalls, and rivers to create unique tourism experiences.

Telangana Minister for Environment and Forests Konda Surekha and senior officials attended the meeting where the proposal was discussed. The CM asked them to study the feasibility of implementing the idea at Warangal Kakatiya Zoo Park under a public-private partnership model. He also stressed the need to upgrade facilities at Amrabad and Kawal to attract more visitors.

The Chief Minister directed a joint review by forest and revenue departments to identify land for night safari projects and resolve any disputes that may arise. He ordered immediate compensation for people affected by wild animal attacks, including reimbursement for livestock loss.

He also suggested integrating all forest surveillance cameras in the state with the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) in Hyderabad to enhance monitoring and safety.

If implemented, the project is expected to significantly boost tourism in Telangana, create awareness about the state’s flora and fauna, and provide new revenue opportunities for tribal communities. It could also position Telangana as a leading destination for wildlife and eco-tourism in India.
