In a stunning electoral upset, BJP’s K Venkata Ramana Reddy has emerged as a political powerhouse, defeating both BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao and PCC chief A Revanth Reddy in the fiercely contested Kamareddy seat in Telangana.
This victory has earned him the title of a “giant killer,” making waves not only in the region but also garnering nationwide attention. KVR Reddy achieved a historic victory in the Kamareddy constituency, traditionally held by the BRS and the Congress.
KVR Reddy credited his success to the support and trust of the people, as well as the guidance and blessings received from the Prime Minister and the BJP leadership.
The BJP ranks are abuzz with the anticipation that Ramana Reddy, having defeated two key leaders, will be entrusted with significant responsibilities within the party.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Chief Ministers from various states and national BJP leaders, congratulated him for making history by simultaneously defeating the current Chief Minister and a potential future Chief Minister in Kamareddy.
While BJP state president Kishan Reddy, impressed by the overwhelming support during pre-nomination events, envisions making Ramana Reddy a minister in the event of a BJP government, the practicalities of insufficient MLAs present a challenge.
Nonetheless, a campaign is underway advocating for Ramana Reddy’s crucial role in the BJP Legislative Assembly, reflecting the desire of his supporters.
KVR Reddy secured a remarkable win with 66,652 votes, surpassing the combined votes of his rivals. This victory marked the first time a BJP candidate triumphed in Kamareddy and, notably, over both the outgoing and potential incoming chief ministers.
But his road ahead in Kamareddy might not be easy as Revanth Reddy and KCR would not take this defeat easily and will try to suppress him in more ways than many.
