The Telangana government which is entangled in a controversy over alleged HCU lands has made a rather sensational comment. Minister Sridhar Babu expressed his anger over those making false statements about the issue.
Addressing the media, Sridhar Babu said that they were not taking government lands, but resolving a long-standing issue. He clarified that they will not create any harm to the biodiversity of the land.
Sridhar Babu reiterated that 400 acres in Gachibowli’s Survey No 25 belonged to the state government. He disclosed that the Telangana government fought the cases filed in High Court and Supreme Court to get the land.
The Minister put a stop to all comments by saying that not even one inch belonged to HCU. Any controversy created about the issue will mean defiance of the Court, he went on to say.
Sridhar Babu expressed his annoyance over the fact that some political parties were misleading the students to help realtors. In 2003, the land was allocated to IMG Academies Bharat Private Limited, he said. As the organisation failed to start its project, the agreement was nullified and the land was given to AP Youth Advancement, Tourism and Cultural department, the Minister said.
Meanwhile, the students are protesting against the take over of lands. The BRS, BJP and Communist party leaders tried to enter the premises, but were prevented by the police.
The protestors were taken to police stations.
