Vijay political debut hype

The most recent case of a cinema superstar becoming a political star in South Indian politics happened in the form of Pawan Kalyan as his Janasena made a remarkable comeback in Andhra Pradesh election 2024.

This has given new hopes to Thalapathy Vijay fans in Tamil Nadu after contested the state assembly election that was held yesterday.

Since the completion of the election that has been a lot of discussion happening about the prospect of Thalapathy Vijay having a considerable say in the Tamil Nadu election.

Many people are quoting the high voting percentage in Chennai as a strong wave for Vijay. And today there are multiple social media reports about Vijay party winning as many as 30 to 50 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu.

There are comments that the AIDMK must ditch the BJP alliance and instead shift to Vijay’s TVK after the results to form the government. There are many more such theories that are being drawn by the Tamil folk on social media.

While the actual election results are yet to come out, the kind of hype and anticipation that is being built on Vijay and his party is simply a bit too much to process. No one can deny the influence that Vijay can potentially have in Tamil Nadu, but over playing his political card already before the counting could backfire badly.

The fundamental point to be noted here is that this is the very first election for Vijay and his party, so there will be obviously lack in foundational strength. Better things can be expected of him in the future if he remains resolute and consistent.

As of now, there is no clear picture on the political influence that Vijay will have on the Tamil Nadu Assembly election, but what is certain is that social media is hyping him to the very next level. Will he be able to live up to the same? We will know on May 4 once results are out.
