Losing Both MLA Seats? Can He Avoid Humiliation?

Thalapathy Vijay political campaign Tamil Nadu

Cinema craze does not necessarily convert to political clout and we have seen this unfold in front of our eyes multiple times in the past. Now a similar question is rising in the case of Tamil Star Thalapathy Vijay.

Vijay who had recently launched his own political party TVK is contesting the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly election and he is preparing the stage for the same.

Vijay himself is contesting from two Assembly constituencies, which happened to be Perambur and Trichy East. It is extremely crucial that he gains the support of at least one of these two constituencies, if not both.

However, the problem for Vijay here is that the rolling DMK party is extremely strong in both these consequences.

The DMK had won the assembly election from both Perambur and Trichy East consequences in 2021 by a massive margin of 50,000+ votes, respectively.

Even if we add the anti incumbency into equation now, it should be a pretty significant challenge for Vijay to win both the consequences at any cost.

Generally, film stars who enter politics prefer to contest to Assembly constituencies once so that they can have a safe launch at least in one of them. It appears that Vijay is following the exact same strategy in the Tamil Nadu election.

But we have to patiently wait and see if Vijay is going to have a straightforward run in either of these two constituencies as the tide appears to be in DMK’s favour for the time being.
