Thalapathy Vijay addressing Madurai rally

Thalapathy Vijay said the BJP was their ideological opponent while DMK was their political opponent. Addressing a massive gathering in Madurai, Vijay stated that the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections would be a direct contest between DMK and TVK.

He promised to reach every home in Tamil Nadu. With his pre-poll meetings gaining momentum, Vijay said that criticism only made him stronger. He declared that his party would bring a political revolution in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay announced his decision to contest from Madurai East in the upcoming elections, bringing cheer to his fans and supporters. He said that his movement would not be about caste or politics but only about Tamil Nadu.

He dismissed the idea of aligning with the BJP, saying other parties joined alliances for survival. Vijay questioned why they should bow before the RSS. He accused the BJP of harming Tamil identity and rejected any tie-up.

Vijay also promised to secure the release of Katchateevulu from Sri Lanka. He criticised CM MK Stalin for holding secret meetings in Delhi and said crime against women had increased under his rule. The gathering responded with strong support.

Vijay founded TVK in 2024. This was his second large-scale meeting after Vikramandi, but the Madurai event stood out as he confirmed his candidacy from Madurai East. For now, his star appeal draws the crowds, but it remains to be seen if he can convert them into votes.
