TS Assembly: KTR Makes An Instant Impression

KTR In Assembly

Telangana Assembly is discussing the Governor’s Address today. Our readers are aware that the Governor’s Speech was a scathing attack on the BRS called it an autocratic regime and people liberated themselves by voting to Congress.

The Address also tried to portray KCR’s rule as a failure and debt-ridden.

KTR spoke on the Governor’s Address.

It was a massive counter-strike by KTR with a combination of subject and oratory skills.

Terming the Governor’s Speech as a “Politically and intellectually bankrupt speech”, KTR spoke for more than an hour downplaying the allegations of his government, highlighting his government’s achievements, and questioning Revanth Reddy on failed promises.

KTR flayed Congress for failing Telangana for 55 years and went on to say the state recovered only under BRS rule.

He also added that it is not right to talk only about debts but should see them with the infrastructure that is created.

“We did not use the money (debts) for distribution of freebies like you. We invested in capital expenditure. All our debts are meaningful debts,” KTR said.

“We took loans and constructed Kaleshwaram. We took loans and constructed Medical Colleges in every district. We took loans and the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project. We took loans and constructed TIMS. We took loans and increased Power Plants. People should think if these are debts or investments,” KTR said.

The first speech of KTR in the Assembly is thoroughly impressive. He ensured that the recent electoral defeat was not reflected in his speech or body language. His speech also ensured that the morale of his leaders, MLAs, and cadre is not impacted.

Many thought in the absence of KCR in the house, BRS would crumble but KTR rose to the occasion.

On the part of CM Revanth Reddy, the treasury benches did not try to interrupt KTR even though the speech was troubling. The Government also did not try to limit KTR’s speech time and allow him to speak at length.

Revanth Reddy should be appreciated for not trying to bulldoze the Opposition but politically, it was KTR who won.
