Telangana elections have hit the very peak with today being the final day for the election campaigning. The candidates will have to wrap up the campaigning by 5 PM today and no events are permitted tomorrow, 29 November.
Coming to the topic, it is reported that over 1 lakh votes have gone missing in Telangana already.
Reportedly, there are around 3 lakh postal ballot votes in Telangana. These votes are given to government officials who are sent out on election duties and are given the facility to vote remotely.
Incidentally, out of the 3 lakh postal ballot voters, only 1.68 lakh were given the postal ballot vote sheets. Over 1 lakh people are confirmed not to receive the ballot sheets to cast their votes. There is a big uncertainty regarding the same now.
The government officials on election duties who didn’t get the postal ballot are now protesting they wouldn’t carry out the election duties if they are not given their right to vote immediately. The fact that over 1 lakh postal ballot votes have been excluded has led to a heated discussion.
