The bielection for Tirupati Assembly constituency is all set to take place on 13th of this month. Congress has remained in the fray challenging the ruling TDP party. While TDP intensified its election campaign, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam delivered a shocker.
TTD issued notices to people living in Kotamalla Veedhi, Kotakommala layout, Reddy and Reddy Colony, Doddapuram Street for occupying and building houses in the land originally belonged to Kuruth Alwar temple located in Sri Govindarajula Swamy temple. The temple is in TTD’s hold and all properties of the temple were transferred to TTD.
TTD notices said that the land should be evicted and also sought payment of Rs 4,800 as rent per month since 2012. The rent arrears will work out to about Rs 1.80 lakh for each household. There are around 15000 voters in these areas and now TDP fears they may change the electoral fortunes of their candidate.
