It is going to be dry in Hyderabad from 16th Morning to 18th morning as the government has decided to close down the liquor shops in the city due to Bonalu Festival. There were representations from various groups to ban liquor for this festival which is prominent in Telangana.

Hyderabad City Commissioner has released a Press Note to this effect and gave stringent instructions to the departments to enforce the shutdown at any cost. On the other side, liquor shops have started to counter this shutdown.
Most of the shops have ordered high stocks in advance and are informing their customers to stock up the drinks to be ready for the dry days. Stock orders have doubled in the Capital area in the last couple of days. However, liquor will be served as usually in hotels which have liquor license
