Before the elections, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy promised to cancel the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) of employees in just one week of coming to power. Even after three years that did not happen and the Government already clarified that it will not be done.
With elections fast approaching, employees are gearing up for agitation on this and had announced a ‘ Millenium March’ on September 1st.
Angara police of Kapileswarapuram Mandal of Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district is issuing advance notices to the UTF leaders not to participate in the ‘Millennium March’
Police issued notices to UTF main leaders from the district on Friday afternoon and brought them before Tehsildar.
They were made to sign an agreement that they will not participate in anti-government movements for six months, and if they participate, they will pay a fine of Rs.2 lakhs.
Similar attempts are being made across the state to make the Millenium March a failure.
Police are directing officials not to sanction leaves to the employees until September 1st is finished. In all districts, Private vehicle operators are instructed not to provide hired vehicles to avoid untoward incidents.
