Thalapathy Vijay has begun his state-wide tour in Tamil Nadu, starting from Trichy. Massive crowds welcomed him, eager to see the film star transition into a political leader. Fans gathered in large numbers to witness his first public appearances.
As usual, Vijay opened his speech by questioning the DMK about its 2021 election promises. He reminded the audience that legendary leaders C Annadurai and MG Ramachandran started their political journeys from Trichy. His speech combined history, politics, and local pride.
Vijay praised the city’s history, communal harmony, and role as an educational centre. Although he has confirmed that his party TVK will contest elections independently, Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan recently expressed support for TVK.
He made a grand entry in a caravan painted with bright party colours, shouting “I am coming.” His film background continues to draw large crowds. It remains to be seen if this popularity translates into votes as Tamil Nadu heads to the 2026 elections.
