Ahead of the crucial GHMC elections, Central government had agreed for 4 SEZs and NIMZ to be setup in Telangana. These proposals are pending with the center for a long time and they have cleared it at the stroke of GHMC elections early next month.

There are several instances in the recent past when Modi government cleared long standing proposals and key projects to a state only when the elections are round the corner. A tactic usually employed during Congress rule.
The NIMZ proposed in Medak district will be a mega industrial zone or integrated township with world class supporting infrastructure. NIMZ is expected to attract an investment of about Rs 17,300 crore and will generate employment of about 2.61 lakh persons.
