Andhra Pradesh government is planning to bring a new land acquisition act to eliminate the short comings of the current Land Acquisition Act brought during Congress regime. The new act will introduce several provisions which will allow speedy acquisition.

The new land act can be brought under Section 107 of the Central Act that empowers states to make their own legislation. This new act will be a `winwin’ situation for land owners as well as the state government.
Earlier the state governments in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu have attempted to formulate their own land acquisition laws but failed miserably. It will be quite an achievement for Naidu if he manages this in Andhra Pradesh.
