Telangana is going to polls in a few weeks from now and the election code is fully in effect now. In this context, liquor shops in the state are voluntarily shutting down and here’s the reason why.

Going into the story, with the election code in effect, police are carrying out raids extensively in the Hyderabad city region.

Incidentally, wine shops and liquor shops owners are facing the heat for the same.

They’re complaining that they’re unable to carry out their transactions due to the election code.

One liquor shop owner in Hyderabad city area has stated “we have to deposit the cash collections from the liquor shop in a bank and only then can we purchase new stock.l

“This needs to happen everyday. But with the election code, police have camped outside my liquor shop and are seizing my money. They seized Rs 4.7 lakh of cash from my shop. In that case, how can I deposit the money and get new stock while they seize my money. So I’ve decided to shut my shop voluntarily. They’re not even listening when I’m sharing my transactions and shop sale”.

This way, many liquor outlets in Hyderabad have shit operations voluntary with the election code troubling them.
