Jagan Has No Option but to Yield to Modi?

YS Jagan Has No Option but to Yield to Narendra ModiElection Commission of India (ECI) the other day proposed to the Supreme Court of India to ban those convicted in corruption cases from contesting elections for the lifetime. BJP led central government may also push for the same because the opposition parties have big tainted leaders which will help it politically.

If there is anyone who should be worried about this proposal, it should be YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who has 21 Charge sheets filed on his for allegedly amassing huge money using his father’s Chief Minister office between 2004 and 2009.

Jagan Mohan Reddy believes that the Central Government micromanages the Judiciary and it is the only one who can save him getting convicted in this case. There is a popular belief that the cases have slowed down just before the 2014 elections as Congress Party expected a Post-Poll alliance later.

Jagan did not try to corner BJP too much after the elections and always maintained good relations with Narendra Modi and team. People in AP believe that the cases were slowed down due to that reason. And this may force an alliance or merger of YSR Congress with BJP, Political observers believe.
