The self demanding opposition leader of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has made it a firm habit to avoid the Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions. He has been doing everything he came to skip the fundamental duty of partaking in the assembly after losing 2024 polls.
The matter is reaching a serious ground now, as Jagan is facing the possibility of having to face the legislative consequences for his absence in the Assembly.
Speaker Ayyannapatrudu pointed out that there is a good chance that Jack and might have his salary cut down if he doesn’t come to the assembly. He remark that Jagan is dismaying the basic duty of coming to the assembly and expressing his voice, so the prospect of paying him salary from state exchequer must also be reconsidered.
“It is the basic duty of Jagan to attend the Assembly and express the concerns of his constituency people. Isn’t this the reason why the people of Pulivendula elected him to the Assembly? If he doesn’t change his ways and neither do his YSRCP representatives, then they will all have to take salary cuts.” The speaker said.
Even at the constitutional level, an MLA must require certain threshold attendance in the Assembly and praise the concerns put for by the people of his or her constituency. Jagan and his party, public representatives are not tending to these duties either, as shocking as it can get.
