The troubles of Sankranthi films – Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy started the day they opted to have the Pre-release events in Andhra Pradesh.
Veera Simha Reddy had to shift to a new venue in Ongole and set up everything in 24 hours after the Government showed ‘stars’ to them in the name of the permission. Balakrishna is an opposition MLA and that is understandable to some extent.
But the torture of Waltair Veerayya’s team is next level. They were made to move back and forth between RK Beach and AU Ground at least four times wasting so much money, resources, and time. Finally, they did not get permission for the venue they asked for.
Someone like Jagan enjoying troubling opponents is not any surprise. But then, when it happens to someone apolitical and friendly like Chiranjeevi, we have to name Jagan something else.
Jagan craved attention from the film industry. It was Chiranjeevi who supported three capitals, it was he who reached out to Jagan with his family, and he led the Tollywood delegation in the ticket prices issue. He did not even hesitate to plead with Jagan with folded hands keeping aside his age and stature.
All this happened even if it meant hurting his own brother, Pawan Kalyan who is on the opposite side of Jagan.
If there is someone in the industry who deserves respect from Jagan, it is Chiranjeevi.
But Jagan did not have the minimum courtesy to reciprocate that.
We may see more of that during Sankranthi troubling the films with Permission for Special Shows, ticket prices, etc.
