After the new government was formed in Andhra Pradesh, the illegal and criminal activities of the old government’s YCP leaders were being uncovered one by one.
Recently, Macharla ex-MLA and YCP leader, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, was arrested by police for smashing EVMs during the polling at the Palvai Gate polling booth on election day.
Now, another arrest has followed in a few days’ gap. Former Bapatla MP and YCP leader, Nandigam Suresh’s brother, Prabhu Das, has been arrested by AP police.
According to reports, Prabhu Das was arrested for illegally transporting sand in the state. Earlier this morning, around 3 am at Uddandarayundipalem, the police caught a lorry in which sand was being transported illegally.
Thulluru SI Venu Gopal took driver Chenayya into custody, seized the lorry, and also a Scorpio that followed it. Upon investigation, the cops discovered Prabhu Das’s involvement in it.
Thus, Thulluru police have taken him into custody and are questioning him about this sand mafia. More details about the case are expected to be revealed soon.
Meanwhile, Nandigam Suresh has yet to respond to this arrest. He lost in the recent Lok Sabha elections to TDP candidate Tenneti Krishna Prasad.
