A rare delivery took place at Bhadrachalam Area Hospital where a baby boy weighing 5 kilograms and 200 grams was born safely. The unusual birth weight made the delivery a special case for doctors and hospital staff.
The mother, Sandhya Rani, delivered the baby under careful medical supervision. Normally, a newborn baby weighs between 2.5 and 3.5 kilograms, which made this birth stand out due to the higher weight.
Doctors say there can be several reasons for higher birth weight in babies. One common reason is diabetes during pregnancy, which can sometimes lead to increased growth of the baby before delivery.
Genetics may also influence birth weight. Babies born to parents with larger body structures can naturally weigh more. In some cases, pregnancies that continue beyond the due date can result in heavier newborns.
Delivering heavier babies usually requires extra care and monitoring. In this case, the medical team closely observed the mother and ensured a safe delivery without complications.
Both the mother and the baby are healthy after the delivery. Locals have affectionately started calling the newborn “Balbheemudu,” celebrating the rare and happy moment.
