Bangalore TrafficTraffic! We all equally hate it, and when we talk about Bangalore traffic, it becomes infamous. Memes are being made, and statements are being issued, making it a classic source of disappointment.

Regarding Bangalore traffic, a published report highlights the plethora of problems the IT hub faces due to mismanagement, with the loss of time being its biggest enemy.

The report states that the mismanagement of traffic costs Bangalore around 19,725 crores every year. If that wasn’t a big enough hit, it also results in an irreplaceable loss of 7 lakh hours, fascinating in every wrong sense.

With the growth of the IT sector, more and more people arrived in Bangalore, accompanied by more cars. As a result, the traffic has become denser, impacting productivity.

The data also shows that 57% of private vehicle users and 55% of public transport users arrive late to their workplace. Despite having more than 60 functional flyovers, the city is failing to control the traffic, damaging productivity.

The city is also expanding, and as of 2023, it occupies 985 square kilometers of land, but its 11,000 km long roads are insufficient to handle such heavy traffic.

Not only in terms of advancement but also in terms of traffic, Bangalore stands toe to toe with cities like Mumbai, Bogota, and Istanbul. The situation won’t be resolved by merely building more roads; good administration is crucial to address the issue.
