BCCI Loses Tick On X(Twitter)

BCCI Loses Tick XThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lost their Twitter blue tick on August 13, leaving fans on social media puzzled. BCCI, India’s cricket governing body, had its account verification badge removed, confusing followers. This situation arises from Twitter’s policy on blue tick verification.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign for India’s 77th Independence Day. The campaign encourages residents to display the Indian flag on their social media profiles. In a similar vein, BCCI honoured this request by changing their profile image to the tricolour. Twitter awards verification badges under the stipulation that users maintain their own names and profile pictures. Failure to comply results in badge removal.
