‘Deadly’ Love Proposal: What Triggered Such Brutal Crime?

Bengaluru Anjanapura murder case scene

A shocking and disturbing incident has been reported from Bengaluru, where a young man was allegedly murdered by his girlfriend in a pre-planned act.

The incident took place in the Anjanapura area on April 20, 2026. According to police reports, the accused woman, identified as Prema (also referred to as Prerna), invited her boyfriend Kiran to her house, claiming she had planned a special “western-style” marriage proposal. Trusting her, Kiran visited her home, unaware of what was about to happen.

Instead of a proposal, the situation turned violent. Police say the woman allegedly tied his hands and legs, blindfolded him, and made him sit on a chair. She then poured fuel on him and set him on fire. Reports also suggest that she recorded the act on her phone.

Kiran, who worked at a telecom store, died on the spot due to severe burn injuries.

Initial investigation indicates that the accused was upset over being ignored in the relationship for over a year. This frustration is believed to have led to the extreme step, although police are continuing to examine the exact motive and any past disputes between the two.

The accused was arrested soon after the incident. Police have reportedly recovered video evidence and registered a murder case. Further investigation is currently underway.

The incident has raised serious concerns about emotional instability, relationship conflicts, and how unresolved issues can sometimes escalate into extreme violence.
