A Bengaluru woman was attacked in her PG by a fellow tenant at 3 am. Parents often worry about their children’s safety when they move out for studies or work. Even in safe localities, it is hard to know someone’s intentions.
The 24-year-old bank employee lived in a PG in Whitefield. Around 3 am, she heard the doorbell and thought it was her friend. When she opened the door, Sai Babu Chennuru, another tenant, barged in. He locked the door, pulled out a knife, and attacked her. She said he also forced and extorted her.
The shocking fact is that the attacker was not a stranger. He lived in the same building, proving that danger can come from people we least expect.
Women’s safety remains a major concern. Despite rules, helplines, and safety apps, incidents like this continue to happen.
Experts advise women to take precautions. Avoid opening doors at odd hours without verification. Save emergency helpline numbers and inform a trusted friend or family member if you feel unsafe.
