“Canada Halts Deportation Proceedings Against Indian Students”

Canada Halts Deportation Proceedings Against Indian StudentsThe deportation procedures against Lovepreet Singh, who ignited the protests, have been postponed indefinitely. After Canadian officials commenced removal procedures against Lovepreet Singh, from SAS Nagar’s Chatmala hamlet, demonstrations occurred in Toronto on June 5. Due to fake paperwork, Canadian officials deported Singh and 700 other students.

After learning that Singh’s study permit offer letter was faked six years earlier, the CBSA ordered him to leave Canada by June 13. On Friday, Aam Aadmi Party MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney stated that the Canadian government had temporarily suspended the deportation of all 700 Indian students. The decision was taken at Sahney’s request and with the Indian High Commission’s assistance, he said.

We wrote to them to emphasize that these pupils are neither forgers nor fraudsters. Unauthorized agents forged admission letters and payment receipts. Visas weren’t verified. “On arrival in Canada, the students realized they had not been registered in the promised institutions,” said Vikram Sahney.

Jalandhar consultant Brijesh Mishra fooled Punjabi pupils. Mishra gave them fake offer letters from top institutions to get study visas.

Even the embassy staff failed to spot the fake until the students applied for permanent residency. The CBSA investigated Mishra’s business, Education and Migration Services, and found the fake paperwork. Thus, all Mishra-assisted students between 2016 and 2020 were deported.
