A five-foot cobra created chaos at a hotel in Ajmer, Rajasthan, after it was found inside the commode of a second-floor bathroom. Guests and staff were shocked as the snake hissed and struck defensively while rescue efforts were underway.
The incident happened in the pilgrimage town of Pushkar and quickly caused panic among those staying at the hotel. A tourist who first noticed the cobra in his bathroom immediately informed the staff, who then contacted the Rajasthan Cobra Team.
The rescue squad arrived and carried out a tense operation to capture the venomous reptile. They managed to secure the cobra without harming it or the guests. Later, the snake was safely released into a nearby forest, much to everyone’s relief.
Experts explained that cases like this are becoming more common as urbanisation continues to affect rural landscapes. The loss of natural habitats is forcing animals like snakes to seek shelter in human spaces, especially during the monsoon when burrows get flooded.
Though no one was injured, the incident has sparked a larger discussion on wildlife safety in urban areas. It highlights the need to balance development with ecological preservation to prevent such frightening encounters in the future.
