While humans are generally considered the most intelligent species, there exists a segment of people who do not possess the same level of intelligence as others. If they did, they would never harm those stray animals barely surviving in territories dominated by humans. Various cases of animal cruelty have been observed, including a recent incident captured in a viral video, where a woman attacked a stray dog with acid in Malad, Mumbai.
This inhumane incident was recorded by a nearby CCTV camera. In the footage, we can see a woman approaching from the side of a building and then splashing acid on a dog. The dog barely manages to escape this life-threatening attack.
The video has ignited a debate on the sensitive topic of animal cruelty. Numerous incidents like these shed light on the issue, where people attempt to remove these stray dogs, considering them as unwanted guests in their comfortable living spaces. Despite the efforts of several NGOs that are dedicated to assisting these voiceless companions of ours, who are unable to communicate their troubles, the problem can only be resolved if we genuinely begin to take care of them.
