Dowry Horror: Teacher’s Death Sparks Outrage

Firozabad dowry death case update

A 30 year old assistant teacher from Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, has died in a shocking case allegedly linked to dowry harassment and black magic torture. The victim, Soni Sharma, was married in 2022 to an ADO officer.

Her family has alleged that she was repeatedly harassed for not having a child. They claim she was pressured to bring more dowry even after nearly 50 lakh rupees were given at the time of marriage. According to them, she faced constant mental and physical torture.

The family also stated that Soni Sharma was taken to tantriks for so called black magic rituals. These acts were reportedly done in the name of treating childlessness. They believe such practices caused her severe distress.

Relatives suspect that she was murdered and that marks were later made on her neck to present the case as suicide. The husband has been arrested. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the allegations.

The incident highlights that dowry harassment continues despite being illegal. Demanding money or property after marriage is a punishable offence. Harassing a woman for not bearing a child is equally cruel and unlawful.

This tragic case serves as a reminder that victims must seek help without delay. Families and society must stand firmly against dowry and blind belief. Only strong action and awareness can prevent such heartbreaking incidents.
