Himachal Pradesh is facing a major concern these days, heavy rain and landslides have severely affected the state, causing damage to properties and claiming many lives. Numerous pictures and videos are circulating, depicting the devastating impact in the region.
As the floods show no signs of stopping, Jairam Thakur, the Leader of the Opposition, has appealed to the Centre for assistance. He has also urged the state government to prioritize safe evacuation.
In one of the videos going viral, we see an uncontrollable force of a river that is flowing beneath a bridge, and just then a much much larger wave of water comes and it totally covers the bridge putting the people living there in a helpless situation.
The overflow of the Beas River has wreaked havoc in Pandoh village, located in Mandi district. Videos capturing the extent of destruction have gone viral on social media. As the condition seems to be not improving government has decided to cancel the leaves of all government staff including nurses, doctors, and other officials. More than 600 JCBs are sent to handle the situation. Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri has ordered various field officials to take the necessary action.
These circumstances are not only a major concern for the local residents but also for the tourists who had traveled to Himachal for vacation.
