India At Top: 1 Lakh ChatGPT Accounts Hacked!

ChatGPT-HackedAs we were still enjoying typing messages in the chat, enjoying the mechanical witty responses, we were making the AI bot plan our whole day or a vacation, we might have to take a pause here. Group-IB reveals that the data of more than 1,00,000 users have been compromised after their ChatGPT Id has been hacked and India stands at the top of the list.

Group-IB, a Singapore-based Cybersecurity company, claimed to have identified more than 1,00,000 stealer-infected devices in which ChatGPT credentials were saved. Among the users, India (12,632), Pakistan (9,217), and Brazil (6,531) top the list.

The stolen credentials were later traded on the dark web. Now this questions the basic security levels of any AI tools and plays with the trust of the users. Even experts like Elon Musk called for the regulation of ChatGPT.

Recently the European Union introduced the AI Act to regulate our friendly AI software. Time Magazine recently made the claim that the AI makers such as Open AI, Google, and Microsoft lobbied with the EU officials for a less stringent AI regulatory regime in the AI Act.

As AI wrath is still going on, this incident might slow the progress down. This data breach incident will make some authorities question the freedom of AI, and a couple of legal protocols might be followed later with new bills introduced.
