India Post Office, one of the most trusted government courier services in India, has landed in controversy after a shocking incident came to light. A laptop sent from Korukonda Sainik School in Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad through India Post was allegedly replaced with stones and plastic wrappers when delivered.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared pictures of the parcel and wrote:
“Korukunda Sainik School nunchi Hyderabad ki India Post lo laptop courier chestey… @IndiaPostOffice employees delivered this… and the response from India Post is pathetic.”
The incident has triggered widespread anger, raising serious questions about the reliability of India Post. How could a secured laptop parcel turn into garbage during transit? Is the government-run service still dependable?
India Post’s official response has only added to the criticism. Instead of acknowledging the issue, they replied:
“Hi, apologies for the inconvenience. Please share the 13-digit Alphanumeric Tracking number with us so that we can get back to you with an update.”
The complainant further alleged that the girl who was supposed to receive the parcel was made to roam across multiple post offices without any resolution. Even then, India Post merely stated:
“Your tweet has been forwarded to the concerned office. We will revert to you shortly.”
This lack of accountability has left netizens fuming. Many feel a simple “sorry” was the least the department could have offered. As of now, the issue remains unresolved, denting public trust in India Post’s services. If such incidents continue, people fear losing confidence not just in India Post but in courier services overall.
