A shocking dating app scam has rocked Ludhiana, Punjab. An investigation by Machan News exposed how unsuspecting men were trapped and forced to pay inflated bills of up to ₹90,000 after being lured into fake dating setups.
According to the report, women were specially brought from Delhi to carry out the scam. They would first gain the trust of men on dating apps and then convince them to meet at selected restaurants or pubs. Once inside, the victims were pressured into ordering food and drinks at inflated prices.
Some victims ended up paying around ₹22,000, while others were pushed into settling bills as high as ₹90,000. The financial shock left many men helpless, with no option but to comply under pressure.
In a major twist, one of the women involved revealed the entire modus operandi on camera. She explained how the gang carefully planned everything, from choosing targets to ensuring the men felt forced to pay without raising objections.
The expose has sparked outrage among locals, with many demanding strict police action. Citizens fear that such scams not only exploit innocent men but also damage Ludhiana’s image. Authorities are now being urged to crack down on organised rackets misusing dating apps to cheat people.
This incident is a reminder for everyone to remain cautious while using dating apps and avoid falling prey to traps that exploit technology for financial gain.
