Kissing in public, Sexual harassment, or doing obscene acts in public places like metro has become a usual sight to the people of Delhi. On August 7th, a man was caught masturbating near Mandi House station. Instances like these are unfortunately not uncommon on the Delhi Metro.
Reportedly the guy was seen masterbating in front of a woman. Though he was identified through CCTV footage and later apprehended. The accused works in the marketing department of a pharmaceutical company. A woman reported the incident to CIDF after witnessing it while traveling from Tughlakabad to Mandi House stations. However, the man managed to escape before his arrest, but he was later captured using CCTV footage.
This is just one example; there are likely more unreported cases. It’s important for the city to understand the distinction between personal freedom and causing disturbances.
