The death of television actress Nandini has sent shockwaves through the Kannada and Tamil TV industry. Known for lead roles in Jeeva Hoovagide, Sangharsha, and Gowri, her passing has deeply affected colleagues and residents of her hometown.
Nandini died by suicide at her Bengaluru residence. Police recovered a death note that offered insight into her emotional state over recent months. The contents pointed to sustained mental distress and personal struggles.
According to police sources, the note referred to pressure linked to family expectations. Marriage and career related concerns reportedly weighed heavily on her. She felt her personal choices were not fully respected.
The note also mentioned the loss of her father, a government school teacher who died while in service. His death had a profound emotional impact on Nandini. He had been her strongest source of support.
After his passing, the family faced financial and emotional strain. As the elder daughter, Nandini felt responsible for supporting the household. This sense of duty reportedly added to her stress.
There were discussions about her taking her father’s government job on compassionate grounds. This possibility conflicted with her acting career. The uncertainty further intensified her mental pressure.
However, her mother Basavarajeshwari denied claims of family pressure. She stated that Nandini was emotionally sensitive and had not spoken to her for nearly 20 days before the incident. She also said the job discussion had ended long ago.
Police confirmed that Nandini returned to her PG accommodation around 10:45 am. The incident occurred shortly after. Authorities continue to investigate while urging restraint and respect for the family’s grief.
