A Similar death pod is introduced to us by An organisation known as The Last Resort introduced a new portable suicide pod called Sarco in Switzerland.
It first came to light in 2019, the death pod fills the pod with nitrogen instead of oxygen, leading to death by hypoxia.
Switzerland’s laws generally permit assisted suicide as long as the individual actively performs thel act themselves.
But the Last Resort believes there are no legal barriers preventing the use of Sarco in the country.
Florian Willet, the chief executive of The Last Resort, mentioned during a press conference that there is significant interest from potential users, suggesting that the pod’s first use could happen soon.
Philip Nitschke, the inventor of Sarco and a prominent euthanasia advocate, noted that once the button is pressed, reversing the process is not possible.
The patient will go through a mental health check up before using it.
