On Twitter, a guy was thrashed in Hyderabad for sitting in a seat allocated as a sacrifice to Lord Hanuman during a screening of Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush. A mob assaults and abuses the man in a social media video. The man was attacked for sitting in Lord Hanuman’s seat.
The event occurred at an early Adipurush concert. As a tribute to Lord Hanuman, director Om Raut suggested that theaters reserve one empty seat for the film. During a promotional event in Tirupati, Raut requested that Lord Hanuman be given a seat to honor his spiritual presence during Adipurush.
This is not the only Adipurush event making news today. A viral video showed a guy getting attacked for criticizing the Prabhas-starring film and compared it to a video game. Both events sparked worries about cinematic violence and bigotry.
