Rahat’s Soul-Stirring Qawwali Tribute to Sidhu is Unforgettable

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan dedicated the beautiful qawwali “Akhiyan Udeek Diyan” to Moosewala during a concert in California, US. Videos of the event went viral on social media, touching both performers’ fans. Moosewala, whose true name was Shubhdeep Singh, died on May 29, last year, in Punjab’s Mansa district.

Sidhu Moosewala’s songs “So High,” “Same Beef,” “The Last Ride,” “Just Listen,” and “295” were huge hits in India and beyond. His distinct approach and passionate fan base established him as a recognized figure in the music business. A candle march was organized in Mansa in remembrance of Moosewala.

Fans and allies gathered in great numbers in Moosa Hamlet to march for justice for the late singer. Charan Kaur, Moosewala’s mother, also attended the march, emphasizing the need to pursue justice in her son’s name. Prayers were also offered in a gurdwara in Jawahar Ke village in memory and honor of the dead singer.
