Rahul Gandhi’s Midnight Truck Ride

Displaying a genuine interest in their well-being, Gandhi joined truck drivers on their journeys, symbolizing his commitment to understanding their “Mann ki Baat.” Visuals shared by the Congress party on social media depicted Gandhi seated inside a truck, engaging in conversations with the drivers. The party explained that he traveled from Delhi to Chandigarh alongside the drivers to grasp the difficulties they face.

The viral videos showcased Gandhi sitting in the co-drivers seat, amiably waving at passersby. According to Congress sources, Gandhi’s destination was Shimla, where his mother was visiting. During the trip, he encountered truck drivers at a dhaba in Sonipat, Haryana, and opted to accompany them to Ambala. Throughout the journey, he conversed with them about their work and the hardships they endure.

In addition to his interactions with truck drivers, Rahul Gandhi made a stop near a Gurdwara in Ambala City to pay his respects. This gesture underscored his commitment to engaging with various communities and promoting inclusivity.

This recent initiative follows Gandhi’s previous efforts to connect with ordinary citizens. Ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections, he rode pillion with a Blinkit delivery agent in Bengaluru as part of the Congress party’s outreach to gig workers. The party emerged victorious in the elections. Gandhi also engaged with passengers on a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus, where he discussed their aspirations for Karnataka. As a part of his campaign, the Congress party promised free travel for women in government buses in the state.

During his time in Karnataka, Gandhi met with gig workers and delivery partners in Bengaluru, attentively listening to their concerns. He even joined them for a meal at a local restaurant, where they shared masala dosas and coffee. Not hesitating to immerse himself in the local experience, Gandhi even hopped on a two-wheeler as a pillion rider to reach his hotel.

In late April, Gandhi engaged in a dialogue with civil services aspirants in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar. A video circulated on social media captured him engaging in a discussion with a group of aspirants, demonstrating his commitment to understanding their perspectives and concerns.
