In an alarming incident that unfolded in Ghaziabad, a 48-year-old man named Tauheed Ali was apprehended by the authorities for allegedly attempting to shoot two sanitation workers. The motive behind this shocking act of violence? The man’s annoyance with the ‘Swachhta Song’ being played in their waste collection vehicle.
Tauheed Ali, a retired Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and resident of Kanchan Park, now finds himself facing charges under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to attempted murder.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 am when a waste collection vehicle happened to pass by Tauheed Ali’s house. The vehicle was staffed by two sanitation workers, identified as Rohit Kumar and his co-driver Raj Kumar, according to the police report.
Rohit Kumar recounts the events, stating that the suspect had previously requested them to switch off the song as the vehicle approached his residence. Despite their explanations that keeping the song on was necessary to alert other residents, Tauheed Ali grew increasingly agitated and resorted to violence, assaulting the workers. He then retreated to his house, only to return brandishing a revolver.

“The suspect utilized his licensed revolver during the attack. Following his arrest, we will recommend the revocation of his arms license. He claimed that the noise from the waste collection vehicle disturbed his sleep and provoked his anger,” revealed ACP (Loni) Rajneesh Kumar Upadhyaya.
