New Parliament Inauguration Sparks Controversy as Opposition Parties Boycott Ceremony. Despite the new Parliament House’s opening, political tensions remain high. In a provocative tweet, Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) compared the new Parliament building to a coffin.
The inauguration was called a dictatorship by Janata Dal-United (JDU), Nitish Kumar’s party. The Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Aam Aadmi Party, RJD, SP, and JDU were among the 20 opposition groups who boycotted the ceremony.
After the inauguration, the RJD’s official Twitter account released a photo of the new Parliament building next to a casket with the comment “Yeh kya hai?” What’s this? This tweet heightened government-opposition tensions.
The new Parliament House’s opening has been celebrated nationwide, however, numerous opposition parties have questioned the Central Government’s project management.
The Congress and 19 other opposition parties skipped the event to express their disgust. Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal’s chief minister, lashed out at the BJP, saying that a government that manipulates history would collapse.
In contrast, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan tweeted about the new Parliament Building’s beauty. The new Parliament House represents democratic power and development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
Meanwhile, actor Kamal Haasan has called on all parties to unite for the new Parliament House’s inauguration. Political divides are highlighted by the new Parliament House scandal.
