A shocking and strange incident occurred in Budaun, UP. A father killed his daughter and Lover with a shovel.
Both of them had been in a relationship for the last few years, without any family support and had been warned to break it off. But, the two did not stop.
The incident took place during the early hours when the two were caught by the girl’s family. They were killed by a shovel after which the father surrendered himself to the police. But, rest of the family members fled the scene.
This is not the first time that a couple was harmed due to a family’s pride or what is known as ‘honour killing’.
As much as one would want to believe that love marriage is supported in our country, the ground reality is entirely different. Reasons for this hate against love range from caste/religion to something as delusional as ‘respect and pride’.
Police are looking for the rest of the family members after a complaint was lodged by the boy’s family.
