Shocking WhatsApp Video Call Scam: 2 Crore Lost

WhatsApp video call scams have become a new trend nowadays and a lot of people have been scammed already. The latest victim of this fraud is a senior citizen from Bengaluru.

A caller who claimed to be from the Mumbai Police Department called the 68 year old victim and accused him of being involved in the money laundering scam with businessman Naresh Goyal.

The victim got intimidated by the police costumes and the background that looked convincing. The scammers then claimed that they have confiscated 24 ATM cards in the case and have issued a digital arrest for him.

The victim got frightened as they said he has gotten into trouble for taking commission from Naresh Goyal. They said there is one more alternative and the issue can be resolved with money.

The man transferred a total of 1.94 crores over the course of seven days. The Cyber Cell is putting a lot of effort in investigating these cases further but every now and then news of a big fraud comes and startles netizens.




The older generation does not know much about the scams that are going on and they are the easiest prey of the fraudsters.
