Paying Lakhs For Female Instagrammers: Good Or Bad?

Social media subscription trend India

Social media has reached almost every single household in India thanks to the extremely accessible internet prices. Well, there are several good things about this, there is also a fairly demeaning aspect.

There is this new trend growing up in the Indian social media circles where female celebrities have started this subscription trend where they display private photos and videos to those who pay certain monthly fee.

This fee structure is generally priced around ₹300 to 400 and is extensively used by female content creators on Instagram.

Primary notion that is sold here is obviously the skin show aspect where these female Instagram celebs flaunt their appearance and sensual beauty to gain followers. A large portion of men are evidently spending big money on accessing these subscriber-only content from these female creators.

This has reached a point where certain female celebrities have thousands of subscribers at this point in time, meaning they’re making lakhs in revenues. The taxation process for this is not very public at this point but there might be fair impositions.

On one hand, there is this active discussion about providing a new financial resources to a section of female stars. But at the same time, certain female creators stoop to new lows for added followers and money. This could possibly go against the anti-porn initiative of the Indian government as there’s the risk of overtly sexualised content here.

This is a very shady line of work that is happening on Instagram, and it should be a matter of time before some sort of censoring happens on the same at an official capacity.
